What is OnGravy
OnGravy is a full financial operating system for businesses and the Chartered Accountants who serve them. It covers the whole loop in one place: double-entry bookkeeping, banking and reconciliation, GST and statutory filing, payroll, and AI that does the busywork. It works across 61 jurisdictions — India is the deepest and is Live; the others are code-complete and marked Beta.
The model: pay your CA for 10 hours instead of 100
Statutory sign-off is a legal monopoly of Chartered Accountants — audits, certifications, and attestations must carry a CA signature, and OnGravy never pretends otherwise. Everything around the signature, however, is work software can do: keeping the books current, reconciling bank statements, preparing returns, running pre-file safety checks, chasing documents, and assembling working papers.
OnGravy does that everything-else. The practical result is that a CA engagement that used to burn 100 hours of manual preparation shrinks to the ~10 hours of judgment and sign-off only a CA can provide. Business owners get always-ready books; CAs get leverage across many more clients.
Who OnGravy is for
- Business owners and their teams — run invoicing, purchases, inventory, payroll, and banking day to day, with the Today command center telling you what actually needs attention.
- Chartered Accountants — a dedicated CA portal for managing clients, running diagnostics, and filing at scale (covered in For Chartered Accountants).
- Accounts staff — voucher entry with Tally-style function keys, an OCR inbox that drafts purchases from uploaded bills, and maker-checker approvals on sensitive edits.
A tour of the platform
Every surface below is live today. The table lists where each one lives inside the app.
| Surface | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Today command center | /dashboard/today | Around 60 decision finders scan your books and rank what needs you — critical, high, medium, low — with a deadlines strip on top. |
| Bookkeeping | /dashboard/invoices, /dashboard/bills, /dashboard/vouchers | Full double-entry books: invoices with server-computed tax, bills with OCR extraction, vouchers, parties, items, and inventory. |
| Banking | /dashboard/banking | Statement imports with automatic bank detection, Account Aggregator live feeds, matching suggestions, and reconciliation. |
| GST & statutory filing | /dashboard/gst/file | GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B preparation with hard pre-file safety gates, plus GSTR-1A, IMS, annual returns, and e-invoicing (India). |
| Payroll | /dashboard/payroll | Payroll runs for all supported jurisdictions; India includes Labour Codes-era PF, gratuity, and overtime rules. |
| AI assistant | ⌘I anywhere, or /dashboard/ask | Ask how-tos, current tax law, or questions about your own books in plain English. |
| AI agent | /dashboard/ai-agent | Plain-English commands executed with a visible tool trace; high-stakes actions always queue for human approval. |
| WhatsApp assistant | WhatsApp chat | Record sales and purchases by text or voice, send invoice photos for OCR, and pull reports without opening the app. |
| CA portal | /ca | Client management, diagnostics, bulk filing, and working papers for practices. |
| Mobile app | iOS / Android | A native companion app for capture and review on the go. |
The Today command center
/dashboard/todayis the home screen of the platform and the answer to the question “what should I do right now?”. Roughly 60 decision finders continuously scan your books — overdue receivables, unfiled returns, unmatched bank lines, expiring input tax credit, anomalies — and each finding is ranked critical / high / medium / low so the list reads top-down. A deadlines strip across the top keeps upcoming statutory dates in view. Onboarding finishes here for a reason: the product leads with decisions, not menus.
Jurisdiction coverage
OnGravy ships tax engines for 61 jurisdictions. Your choice at signup drives the tax engine, currency, chart of accounts, and compliance deadlines throughout the product.
- India — Live. The deepest coverage: GST filing under the current auto-lock regime, e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS/TCS, Labour Codes payroll, and India-specific decision finders.
- 60 other jurisdictions — Beta. Code-complete engines (VAT/CIT/payroll and more) that real businesses can select and use. Beta means the regime logic is built and tested; depth of local filing surfaces varies by country and is called out where it matters.
How these docs are written
The same honesty contract as our compliance changelog applies to every chapter: we document what is shipped and how it actually behaves. If a capability needs your own credentials (for example, e-invoicing needs your IRP login), involves a manual step, or applies to India only, the chapter says so plainly instead of implying it is automatic everywhere.
Pricing
Current plans, per-business and per-seat pricing live on the pricing page. Regulatory changes we ship — and when — are published on the compliance changelog.
