Mobile, offline & billing
This chapter covers taking OnGravy with you — the native mobile app and the installable PWA, including offline work — and everything about paying for it: plans, seats, additional businesses, add-ons, and how to change or cancel your subscription.
The mobile app
OnGravy ships a native mobile app for iOS and Android, in the same dark-and-orange brand as the web app. It is built for the work that actually happens away from a desk:
- Receipt capture — photograph a bill or receipt; OCR turns it into a draft for review.
- Voice vouchers — speak a transaction and it becomes a voucher draft.
- Approvals on the go — clear your approval queue (payments, entries, agent actions) from your phone, so you are never the bottleneck.
The app connects to www.ongravy.com — same account, same books, same permissions as the web app. Note the session policy: one web + one mobile session per user (see Teams & permissions).
Installing the PWA
Prefer not to install from an app store — or want OnGravy on a desktop as its own window? The web app installs as a PWA:
- Visit /install for guided, per-platform instructions.
- On Android/Chrome: use the browser’s Install app prompt. On iOS/Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen. On desktop: the install icon in the address bar.
- OnGravy now launches from your home screen or dock like any app.
Offline mode
Connectivity is not guaranteed at a shop counter or a client site, so the installed app keeps working offline — capture continues locally and syncs when you are back online. The offline mode page describes the capability in detail. The practical habit: install the PWA (or the app) before you need it offline — offline mode protects work in an app you already have, it cannot install one for you.
Plans & pricing
Two plan families, matching the two kinds of user:
| Plan family | Model | Entry price |
|---|---|---|
| Business owner | Flat monthly subscription per business | ₹799/month |
| CA practice | Metered per client under management | ₹299/client/month |
The CA model scales with the practice: bring on a client, the meter ticks up; a client leaves, it ticks down. Current tiers and inclusions are always on the pricing page — treat that as the source of truth over any number quoted elsewhere.
Additional businesses & seats
- Additional businesses — owners running more than one business add each extra business for +₹599/month on the same account, with instant switching between books.
- Seats — each staff member needs a seat: ₹199 one-time each. Seats are transferable; deleting an employee frees the seat or transfers it to their replacement. The mechanics of invites and roles are in Teams & permissions.
Add-ons & trials
Optional capabilities ship as add-ons at Settings → Add-ons, and add-ons come with trials — try one against your real books before paying. Add-ons bill alongside your plan on the same invoice.
Payments
- India — checkout runs on Razorpay: UPI, cards and netbanking.
- International — payment capture outside India is rolling out; if live checkout is not yet available for your country, the product itself still works — only self-serve payment is pending.
Managing your subscription
/dashboard/billing is the one place for everything billing:
- See your current plan, add-ons, seats and additional businesses in one view.
- Download invoices and receipts for every charge, in-app.
- Upgrade, downgrade or cancel anytime — no lock-in, no call-us-to-cancel.
If a renewal payment fails, retention automation handles it gracefully: reminders first, then a pause — your data is not deleted because a card expired.
Gotchas & good to know
- The mobile app talks to
www.ongravy.com. If the app cannot connect on a locked-down network, that is the hostname to allow. - One web + one mobile session per user. Logging in on a second phone claims the mobile session from the first — sharing one login across people does not work by design; buy a seat instead.
- Install before you need offline. Offline mode keeps an installed app working; it cannot bootstrap from a blank browser with no connection.
- Seats are one-time; businesses are monthly. A seat (₹199) is bought once and reused across staff changes; an additional business (+₹599/mo) is a recurring charge for as long as you keep it.
- Adding businesses and staff requires an active subscription — expansion actions are gated until billing is in good standing.
- Prices in docs can lag. The pricing page is the source of truth for current tiers and per-country pricing.
- International checkout is the rollout item, not the product. Everything in these docs works globally; only self-serve payment capture outside India is still landing.
