How is this different from Tally for a CA?
Tally is desktop-first, single-user, requires TDL scripting for customisation, and has no portfolio view across clients. OnGravy is cloud-first, multi-user real-time, customisable in the UI, and gives you portfolio dashboards (deadlines, client health, command center) across every client. F-keys are preserved so your staff do not need retraining.
Is this Zoho Practice repackaged?
No. Zoho Practice is a separate Zoho product you pay extra for, on top of a per-business Zoho Books subscription for each client (₹749/mo each). On OnGravy, CA Practice Pro is a single ₹4,999/month flat fee — practice tooling AND your access to all client books, unlimited clients.
Will my clients have to pay separately?
Yes, each client business pays its own subscription (Free under ₹25L turnover, Starter ₹399, Professional ₹999, Premium ₹2,499). The CA Practice plan is for YOUR firm and YOUR access. This split exists so the client owns their data and their billing — not held hostage by their CA, ever.
How fast do you ship regulatory changes?
Public 30-day SLO from binding notification to shipped support. We publish every notification and the days-to-ship on the public compliance changelog. Tally and Zoho do not publish this — we make it falsifiable.
What about depth gaps I might hit?
We are honest about this on /switch/from-tally. Tally still wins on raw F-key speed for trained operators, TDS section breadth (we have ~30 of 100+ common sections), and some GST edge cases like SEZ + composition. We close these quarter by quarter. The changelog tracks our progress.
Can I bring my Tally backup over?
Yes — upload at /dashboard/migration/restore. We parse masters, ledgers, vouchers, opening balances into a sandbox business so your live books are untouched. You review the diff, then cut over when ready. Typical migration takes 30-60 minutes.
Is my client data safe in the cloud?
Hosted on Supabase Postgres with Row-Level Security so a CA can only see businesses they have explicit access to. Continuous cloud backup. Full GDPR / DPDP-compliant data export anytime. Sentry monitoring + per-IP rate limits + ICAI-aligned audit trails on every change.
Do I have to commit to a year?
No. Monthly billing, cancel anytime. We refund unused days. If you do commit annually you save ~17% (effectively 2 months free), matching the Zoho discount structure — but no penalty for monthly.
