Frequently asked
To add GST, multiply the taxable amount by the rate (e.g. ₹10,000 × 18% = ₹1,800 GST, ₹11,800 total). To remove GST from an inclusive price, divide by (1 + rate): ₹11,800 ÷ 1.18 = ₹10,000 taxable. This calculator does both.
For an intra-state supply (buyer and seller in the same state), GST splits equally into CGST and SGST — e.g. 18% becomes 9% CGST + 9% SGST. For an inter-state supply, the full rate is charged as IGST. The place of supply decides which applies.
The main slabs are 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, plus 0% (nil-rated/exempt), 0.25% (rough diamonds) and 3% (gold). The rate depends on the HSN/SAC of the goods or service.
OnGravy computes the split, auto-fills HSN, and files it straight into your GSTR-1.
